Here are my answers to the three questions put to us by our leader (but not in this race!) Jen.
My Orginal Goal: It was to be able to keep up with our pug, Reggie as we walked around Greenlake. If that was not attainable I was going to walk in a 10 K race at the end of March. Now I've learned that I must make a side trip with Lori, her dad and brother and his wife to Reno at the end of March. My new goal might be to stay up past 10:00 PM. or to walk to the various casinos on the main strip.
Really New Goal: Walk around Lake Union. I can do this on my own time and I might even buy myself a long-sleeved T-Shirt and put some cute quip on it. I can stop at the various bars, see the sights along the way, and try to locate our house from various vistas.
Training: I still do the elliptical daily for 50 minutes and spend 10 minutes in the steam room. I plan on walking Reggie along the lake. I will also visit various local bars ahead of time to ascertain whether they warrant my stopping during my walk. Maybe they will sponsor me!!! Lori would like to put a time limit on this walk, but really I just hope to finish!!
How is it going? As I stated I am exercising almost daily for 50 minutes. I have lost 14 pounds as of last week. Nobody at work has noticed except for a parent who left me a love note. I now weigh what I did when I needed to lose weight 6 years ago. I hope to lose another 30 pounds before this is over or soon thereafter. So have a great loss week. By the way being the oldest participant (by a week) and with plantar's fascitis I expect no extra compensation like 5 points!!!
